First Up...Trusting My Intuition

Intuition for me is allowing myself to trust what my inner self is telling me. Now, I always try to listen to my "gut". But lately, it seems as if they want to talk more and more.

So, how to get out what they want to say?

I turn to tarot.

It's been awhile since I've read tarot, let alone regularly. Heck, I was decent enough to offer readings for donations for the 3-Day-Walk in 2010. After that, I promptly put them down and really haven't done much with them.

Now, there are a few ways to read tarot. You can go with the traditional meanings, you can go with what the pictures say, or you can see what pops into your minds eye based on the "energy" of the card. Or you can do a combination of all three.

I've done the first two options. And even combined those in the past. Heck I've even thrown in some elemental and zodiac-ical readings from the cards before.

But I've never really focused on the energy of the cards. What is the energy, or underlying theme of what the cards are saying. I'm trying to tap into my intution more with the cards.

And being who I am, I'm taking an online-do-it-at-my-own-pace 10 session class on reading intuitively.

After the first lesson, I'm excited to see what the next lessons will bring. And I'm a little surprised at both how easily the cards are coming back, but also how difficult intuitive readings can be.

The journey of accepting to listen to your intuition/inner self isn't necessarily an easy one.

Spring Cleaning

Okay, I'm happy to say, March has been such a great month for me! February finished a bit off, but I was able to rally back in March. I'm feeling so stable, confident and centered now. It's really remarkable. I don't think I've felt this way in years. I guess the getting up off my ass and doing things is really what I needed.

In March, I:
  • Finished all my necessary fundraising. Now everything I get it just frosting!
  • Got caught up at work for all of 1 day. ;)
  • Saw Alice in Wonderland and went shopping with my Sister-in-Law. Such a great flick!!!!
  • Hung out with Domestic Witch for Tea and Shopping!
  • Hung out with Mom, the Wee One and the Ostara Bunny. ;)
  • Helped out a former advisor by interviewing a few Greek Chapters.
  • Read tarot for people other than friends and family.
  • Did an Ostara ritual.
  • Went to a few birthday parties.
  • Went to a baby shower for my cousin-in-law.
  • Had a blast with LUPEC sisterbroads at our monthly meeting.
  • Had a Pure Romance party!
  • Made brunch for my family.
  • Held my first Blog giveaway!!!
  • Really started training for the walk.
So as you can see, March was a rick-rollin good time!!!

Never gonna give you up.
Never gonna let you down.

Sorry, back to the topic at hand.

April should be more of the same! I can't wait. I've got quite a few things lined up. So stay posted!

Back in Black

I think I'm finally able to get back into my groove of writing on this blog again. Man oh man was January a rough month. I'm hoping that the rest of the year will be smooth sailing now.

Let's see what the cards have to say.

First card: Knave of Swords. To me he's become adept at keeping the sword pointing away from himself. He can balance it in the air without causing damage to himself or others. I'm hoping that I've learned what I need to have learned last month and can finally move forward. (With this lesson in my pocket.)

Second card: Magician. He's back. Reminding me to teach myself that I have everything I need to move forward. And to teach my daughter what to do when it feels as though the world has thrown so many curve balls it's difficult to keep everything afloat. (He brings me a bit of relief too since he's my birth card.)

Third card: Temperance. She's back again. This time in the upright position. She's telling me that I'm back to normal. I'm back to my usual trend of seeing all sides to an issue. And not being tricked by the flying fish.

I'm happy to see the cards are reflecting my new found relief. Man oh man has it been long time. I'm ready to see what February has to bring.

Working with the Goddess

The Moon: Indicates the goddess. Following your intuition and reveling in the mystery of femininity. The Moon is the pagan equivalent of the Goddess aspect. I’ve been working with a goddess lately (Isis) and these cards are showing that.

Three of Pentacles: The stars also indicate the feminine. I am the goblin practicing drawing the symbols that will bring me closer and closer to my relationship with the Goddess.

Ace of Wands: I am a strong earth sign. Therefore, what more would you expect than a green phoenix? (It’s actually a Simurgh.) But this card indicates me getting ready to start on my new spiritual path!

What an interesting reading!!!! I’m always amazed at what cards come up, when I do readings for myself.

Think: Finances. Do: Nature walk. Love: Life

This morning I decided to pull a few cards from the deck. I tried out Tarot Dame's Charlotte Mason spread

1. Something to think about: Five of Pentacles
2. Something to do: King of Pentacles
3. Something to love: Queen of Swords

Five of Pentacles: Something to think about Man is this card spot on. I feel like the Gnome in this card. Trudging the icy and frugal financial path. Everything seems to be frozen. I've been worried about my funds for a few weeks now. It seems like there's always something. Clothes, food, mailbox, car payment, bills, etc. Everything is piling up and I'm always relieved to find that there is enough there. It just doesn't always feel like it. This card is me to a "T" right now. I have to keep an eye on money, but I shouldn't stress over it. Since I have enough. Just would like to have more (doesn't everyone) so I could start saving.

King of Pentacles: Something to do The King of Pentacles has always represented earthly wealth to me. A kind, generous man who shares his abundance. But he can also indicate a pull to nature. I do need to get out more. Enjoy the changing of the seasons. Revel in the beauty of the leaves turning from green to reds and golds.

Queen of Swords: Something to Love This card usually indicates a need to be strong, independent, and smart. (Lead with your head, not your heart.) But in this deck the card has a distinctly different feel to me. She seems to be beckoning me to her. See what I've reaped. You can have this too. You can have the emotional strength (pool of water) & natural strength (jungle and moss on her) along with the usual mental strength (swords in water). Just relax. Revel in your womanhood. She seems to be telling me to enjoy my weekend. (It is shaping up to be quite the ladies weekend: LUPEC (Ann Arbor chapter) meeting and a Bridal shower.

Hmm. Great spread. I'll be using this one again!

Less Stress on the Horizon

I'm an avid tarot fan. In fact, I'm trying to really study and work at it, so that one day, I can do it professionally. That said, I'll have to do a ton of readings!

So here goes!!!

I did a daily three card draw with the Fey tarot deck. (Sorry about the picture quality. Hopefully, I'll figure out how to put mulitple pics together better later.)

*Note: I like to combine a little of traditional readings with intuitive readings. So I may not always use a card the same way. It'll just depend on the day.

Chariot, Emperor, 4 of Wands

Chariot - I received this card a few days ago. Then it indicated to me how I saw myself before having my daughter. I was able to kick back and enjoy life as it happened. No worries for this chica.

But today, I see this card differently. I still see it as referring to me. But indicating that I'm not moving in the direction that I should be. I'm a couch potato in other words. After everything is done for the day, I typically sit in front of the boob tube and work on my cross stitch. Relaxing? Yes. Active? No.

Emperor - Today, this card reflects my husband sitting as well. We are both incredibly exhausted with his current work schedule. (Two and a half weeks of 12 hour days, with only one day off.) But he should be getting back to his normal schedule. Which will help us both. He can help out with the little one and around the house, and I won't feel so overwhelmed with everything.

****Major props to all the single moms out there!!! I really don't know how you do it!****

Four of Wands - This card typically means to kick back and enjoy a break. Enjoy the fruits of your labor. It's a tree all decked out for a party! I feel that it's reminding us that this stressful time is coming to a close, so we can enjoy the break in the insanity. However, this break seems like it's going to be short lived. Since the hubs works in retail, November will be nuts for him. Thankfully, it shouldn't be quite as stressful as this time has been, since that time a little bit of a slow period for me at work.
